The pictures I add to my blog show the interest I have in the world around me. I also enjoy researching many diverse and varied topics. My interest in History focuses on whose story is it? Every story is told for a reason, and many stories are worth retelling. Some stories have been omitted or distorted, and I like to expose the politics and rationale underpinning the stories. History is the discipline that explores stories and why they are told. My hope is that education provides an inclusive and open space for stories to be researched, shared and retold. Cultural diversity is another interest of mine. I suppose I am interested in culture in response to my Dutch heritage, by the uniqueness of the Australian landscape, history, flora and fauna and because of my curiosity in the world around me. I see education as providing a forum to share our understanding of our world with those we meet.
